Family Legacy

Family Legacy is a Southern Gospel group founded by Eric Vertrees, who began his ministry after retiring from “The Veterans” in 2001. Eric, along with his sister Shelia and wife Cheryl, started singing together in their home church in 2003, later forming Family Legacy. The group’s first CD, "Family Legacy," was released in 2004, followed by a series of milestones, including winning the 2005 Sogospelnews Fanfest Talent Search and performing with renowned groups like The Imperials and Mercy’s Mark. Their music reached national audiences, with several radio singles charting across the country.

Over the years, Family Legacy faced personal challenges, including the loss of Eric and Shelia’s brother in 2008, their mother in 2011, and Shelia’s passing in 2017. Despite these hardships, the group continued their ministry, with Eric and Cheryl’s son Matthew stepping up to fill the baritone position. In 2018, Family Legacy released their hit single "Faith Is All You Need," which charted at #66 on the Singing News Top 80. Their latest project, “Living the Good Life,” showcases twelve new songs, all written by Eric and his collaborator Robin Milby. Through all the trials and triumphs, the group remains committed to sharing their faith through music as long as God allows.
